Billy Dutton Uphill

The Billy Dutton Uphill is a fundraiser supporting Far West Nordic juniors and the Ted Beauchamp Scholarship.

Once a year, Palisades Tahoe hosts this unique uphill challenge: participants start at the base of KT-22 and race UP the Mountain Run to High Camp. Ski it, skin it, run it, snowshoe, or hike — whatever works for you (no motors or jet packs).

The course features a demanding 3.2-mile climb with over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. It's a fun but serious challenge for runners, snowshoers, cross-country and backcountry skiers — or anyone who loves a good climb in a stunning mountain setting.

Remembering Billy Dutton

Billy Dutton was known for his extraordinary endurance and his daily (!) uphill ski routines, as well as his infectious smile. As a founder of Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, his legacy continues to inspire the community. This event celebrates his life and his many contributions to our community.
